It is finally here. Alicia Keys has released her 4th studio album entitled “The Element Of Freedom”. The question that many Keys fans have is, will this latest project live up to Alicia’s previous incredible efforts. This is an honest review of Alicia Keys “The Element Of Freedom”
Let’s get right to it,
The album consist of 14 tracks including a short intro at the very beginning. Here are my personal ratings and short feed back for each track. My ratings system is based on a 1-5 scale that breaks down like this.
1 = Horrible
2 = Poor
3 = Ok
4 = Pretty Good
5 = Excellent
Here we go.
Track 1. “Intro”- This is nothing more then Alicia talking for a few seconds. (no rating)
Track 2. “Love Is Blind”- Very well produced somewhat melodic track that definitely fits Alicia’s style. 4/5
Track 3. “Doesn’t Mean Anything” – This was one of her hit singles and for good reason. I loved the beat and the lyrics were spot on. 5/5
Track 4. “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” – Heart felt slow jam that is defined by it’s hard hitting snare kick. 4/5
Track 5. “Wait Til You See My Smile” – Very melodic but uplifting track that does make you want to smile. 5/5
Track 6. “That’s How Strong My Love Is” – This piano driven love song is simple but still something you can vibe to. 3/5
Track 7. “Unthinkable (I’m Ready)” – Nice hook. 4/5
Track 8. “Love Is My Disease” – Nice little Reggae feel. 3/5
Track 9. “Like The Sea”- Hot up beat track. 5/5
Track 10.”Put It In A Love Song (feat Beyonce)”. Nice collaboration. 5/5
Track 11. “This Bed” – Nothing special. 3/5
Track 12. “Distance and Time” – Slow jam with an ok beat. 3/5
Track 13. “How It Feels To Fly” – Motivating. 4/5
Track 14.”Empire State Of Mind Part 2″ – Nice sequel to the original. 5/5
Overall this album is definitely a hot one in my opinion. Alicia has done it again! I give the overall album a 4/5.
