My local flight school only offers PPL; should I go elsewhere for training?
Hi,
I’m going to begin training as a pilot and I am currently working towards building my hours towards achieving my private pilot’s license at a local airport.
The problem with my airport is that the only planes available for rent are Cherokees and Cessna’s from the 1960′s &1970′s – I’m flying OLD equipment. They don’t offer anything beyond the PPL, as in they don’t have multi-engine aircraft for rent available.
Is it ok for me to be learning on older aircraft, or should I be flying newer aircraft (Cessna’s & Cirrus’s with modern instrumentation)?
Also, is it beneficial for me to go to an airport that offers all of the certifications necessary to become a certified commercial jet pilot, or is does it not matter if I were to break up my training in different segments at different airports?
